View Full Version : I'll Never Understand Women!
Dog Daze
We are headed to the FL keys on Sat for a week of R&R. My wife is killing me over things we need to "do" before we leave. Whats to do? Ya just throw a pair of shorts and T shrt in a bag, grab the dogs and go. But nooooooo. I have to make sure the grass is mowed, house is clean, water softener has salt, etc etc. Hell, the grass will just need mowin when we get home, nobody will be here to care if the water is hard, and the house?!! I certainly won't care if the carpets need sweeping. Fellas, remember when life was simple, back when we were single? I love my wife to death but great googly moogly, I swear to God she has some kind of brain damage.

Look at it like the military....it's her unit and she is the Top Sergeant of the household and has been for many years. She runs it just like you ran yours....everything in tip top shape at all times and ready for action at a moments notice. Did you allow any slackers.....much less one that questions your every request? Stay low and go with the flow.

I suppose we need to make sure the house looks good in case any burgler's get in :D

Yeah, I'm with you. I think a lot of women view the state of their house as a refection of them, ESPECIALLY when a guest is in the house....and TRIPLE ESPECIALLY if the guest is another female....and to the 10th power beyond that if it is a female in-law. My wife rarely expresses outright anger, but I saw pure rage when I told her my daughter ( her step daughter) was minutes from dropping by and I had not given her at least a days notice to completely clean the house. Evidently women judge each other by the state of their house.

When Patrish's Mom is scheduled for a visit, ... it's a regular "All Hands on Deck" emergency, orgy of cleaning.
Mostly, ... Biscuit and I either go fishing, or hunting, or just hide out in the Shop, ... and order a Pizza, ... because Patrish will not be allocating any time for normal Kitchen duties.
And, ... for God's sake, don't try to "help out" by doing the cooking yourself.
( One speck of grease on Her "gleaming" Kitchen surfaces, ... is a hanging offense. )
***********************************
Patrish is, ... HANDS DOWN, ... the Smartest Woman I've ever met, ... but a visit from Her, pleasant, "down to earth", 80 year old Mother, ... pushes ALL Her "Crazy" buttons.

Just humour her/cut her some slack/shape up and "soldier"... whatever you want to call it.
The investment in keeping her happy will pay dividends while stuck in a car for 2 weeks with her, and she won't be able to say "I told you so..." when you return (although YOU might be able to when/if the opportunity arises). At any rate, you'll also accrue merit in Heaven, too.
If she's not happy, well you know how it goes. :D

Hey guys. Appreciate them while you have them!. Since I lost my wife 5 years ago I have become the slob she never would let me become on my own.. Although I am now completely a free agent, my house is a mess, clean clothes do
end up in piles on the beds in the spare bedroom. not in bureau drawers: after a while dust won't Swiffer but needs to be washed, after grocey shopping my counters get stacked up with purchases that don't end up in the cabinets except for those needing refrigeration. In other words I for one needed "guidance" and in my case was a better person because of itl.
