A fishing report ;-)

I fished down from 55 for about 3 hours, today. 1 nice Sea Mullet on sand fleas.

How about that, an actual fishing report?

Now, tell me what I can catch from the break at Ft.Macon next week. I'm thinking specks.

Spanish. For starters, throw some Gotchas in red/white and chartreuse/white,both with gold hooks. Those are two mainstays but sometimes all gold as well as black/red head/gold hooks. That black was so hot one year I drove to all the shops down there just to find one left on a rack.

Throw some chartreuse/white 1/2-5/8 oz bucktails tipped with a strip of mullet along with 3-4" grubs and gulps for flounder/pups.

Thanks for the advice FH. Is there anywhere near the inlet good for tossing a cast net?

Best place for a landlubber to throw a net, besides the surf, used to be at the little bridge on the way to Beaufort. There's also a small public access area there.Stop in at Freeman's Tackle and ask them for info. They're on the left after you cross the bridge to Atlantic City/Fort Macon. You can also check with Shute's Tackle,Capt. Joe Shute,on the right before you get to Freeman's.
