Last night I finally landed one of these beast that I have hooked so many of.
Me and my good friend and part time mate, Christian, origionally planned to fish for the usually consistent barracudas off the pier. We had caughrt a few and we heard some shouting from the end of the pier. We looked up in time to see another guy fighting a decent size fish with a handline. Unfortunatly his fish threw the hook in one of its signiture "trout-like" headshakes, but the bite was on so we quickly switched rigs and netted a few mullet. We each had several bites and went through two or three baits a piece untill I connected solidly with this bruiser on a lookdown. We almost lost him right at the platform becouse he wouldnt go into the net but Chris quickly snatched him up with his bare hands. I will try to post more of the nightime pier action as I have a new waterproof bag for the dig. camera. Last week me and two friends mohawked the rose snappers, catching over 35 apiece!
